Who Are We:

The Cambodian American Mobile Clinic (CAMC) was founded in 2009 by Mr. Tin Iv. CAMC is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization in the United States and Cambodia. Our organization has just recently signed an agreement of cooperation with the Royal Government and the Ministry of Health in Cambodia.

Purpose:

“The purpose of the organization is to provide free basic medical and eye care for children and adults in rural areas of Cambodia.”

Fact & Figure:

The bulk of Cambodia’s public health system staff was recruited and trained quickly during the Vietnamese occupation of 1979 to 1989. Many of the skills these new personnel learned are not adequate to respond to the country’s burden of disease.

Cambodia has one of the highest TB rates in the world. TB incidence is estimated at 540 per 100,000, compared to 10 per 100,000 in the United States.

Chronic malnutrition among Cambodian children is common. Nationwide, 52% of children are malnourished as measured by weight for age, according to the 2000 National Micro nutrient Survey. Average Income: Rural Cambodians earn less than $300 a year. Basic health care requirements can be provided for less than $4 per person.

Our Needs:

Our goal is work with the local government to Combat variety of health problems in Cambodia. With our local connections and support from medical professionals in the United States, we hope to provide and improve clinical services, implement public health education and expand Community outreach.

To reach this goal of improving the living conditions and quality of life for Cambodians, we are seeking funding that will allow us to fund / support:

• Transportation Costs / Ambulance(needed)
• Local Doctors and Nurses
• Pharmaceutical Drugs
• Medical Equipment
• Prescription Eyes Glasses
Along with sponsoring support as we had received from previous sponsor of Global Samaritan.
